A few weeks ago, in honor of my son advancing from 6th to 7th grade, I felt that we needed to go out to lunch and celebrate. So off we go to his favorite place- Red Lobster. The weather was beautiful, lunch was delish and the company was fantastic.
I love this year's trend of the high-low dress and skirts. But because it is just that- trendy, I have to be careful not to buy too many. I suppose however, when the style becomes passee, I could just cut off the low and make them all mini-skirts. :)

I spent this past week in Chicago with my family on our annual vacation. This was my first time in the windy city and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Shopping on the Magnificent Mile enables me to cross off one of my items on my bucket list. As you can see, the week's color scheme of black and white had to have a hint of color and I found this cute little Michael Kors bag at my favorite TJ Maxx. If you need to do a lot of walking, the Fit Flops are totally comfortable and although you can't see it very well, these have sequins on them and are totally cute. I didn't go overboard with the shopping this time, but beware- next time I visit Chi-town, I am bringing an empty suitcase.
I bought this dress about a year ago at Dillards. I think this style is universally flattering on everyone by cinching the waist and accentuating the bustline. The full skirt makes you want to twirl around and dance like those in some of the old school musicals.
